Our Services

Emergency Appointments

If you are having a dental emergency and are registered with us, call the Practice before 12pm and we will see you that day. If you call after 12pm we aim to see you the next working day.

If you phone our Practice out of hours, an answering machine message will inform you of what you should do.

Disabled Access

Both our High Street and Rosyth Practices have stairs, however our Maygate Practice has better access though with 2 shallow steps. It also contains a toilet with some aids however it is not fully up to standards as it is slightly undersized.

Disabled parking is available directly opposite our Maygate Practice and there are also many town centre car parks nearby which offer disabled access. The nearest to our High Street Practice would be Bruce Street Car Park which offers 4 disabled parking spaces or the new Tesco on Carnegie Drive.  There are also St Margaret's Street Car Parks down from our Maygate Practice which also offers 4 disabled parking spaces although this is located slightly downhill from the Practice.

Other Services

If you phone the practice from the door or before your visit, we will be happy to help in any way we can.

We have induction loops present to aid those with a hearing impairment.

Large print information is available on request for those who find it difficult to read our normal documents.

Smoking Cessation

All of the dentists and hygienists will be happy to give you help and advice to stop smoking and we hope to have a dedicated member of staff who will specialise in this. Please ask us about this service as we feel it is a very important step to improving your dental and general health.

Childsmile

We are a Childsmile Practice. This is a government run initiative to provide dental care for all children. From 6 months of age your child attends the dentist on a regular basis. A specific programme of care, suited to your childs needs is provided by the dental team. This is carried out by the dentist, hygienist/therapist and an Extended Duty Dental Nurse (EDDN). At our Practice Wendy, Helen , Kirsten, Sarah, Clare and Jennifer are trained Childsmile nurses. The programme includes: Oral hygiene instruction, teething and toothbrushing instruction; advice on diet, breastfeeding and weaning; provision of free dental packs; annual dental checkups from 18 months old; plus 2 yearly fluoride varnish applications from 2 years old.

Nervous Patients

We understand a lot of patients are anxious when coming to the dentist for a variety of reasons, be it bad past experiences or fear of needles. Please inform us if you are nervous and we will ensure ever step is taken to try and make your experience easier. We will give you time to discuss the best way to overcome your fears and offer hypnosis and relaxation techniques to provide long-term solutions to your phobia. Please see http://www.bsmdhscotland.com/ for more information.
